There Really Is No Place For Monochrome Monitor Nowaday.

A monochrome monitor is a monitor with black and white only display. It is a Cathod Ray Tube (CRT) type of monitor. Its radiation is two times lower than that of a CRT colour monitor. Only after 1990s, colour monitors became common with the advancement of electronic engineering technologies and emergence of multimedia concept in the world of personal computer (PC). Since then, monochrome monitor never sold with a PC again but it was replaced by colour monitor instead. Many monochrome monitors were scribed away charging into garbage together with their CPU which were only of XT, AT, 286 and even 386 modals which literally could not run multimedia in realtime mode. Even though early version of Operating System like WINDOWS supported monochrome monitor but many application programmes already ceased to support monochrome monitor. This kind of application limitations and temptations of colourful multimedia eventually forced PC users to put an end to the monochrome monitors.

But the story of monochrome monitor did not end there as many workplaces including banks, super markets and offices particulary those with own computer network system still used monochrome monitor as these workplaces did not run multimedia but mostly merely client-based services. Not only they saved money by retaining the axisting monochrome system without needing to spend money to change the system and the monochrome monitors themselves were cheaper than the colour monitors, the owners and workers of these workplaces were happy with the monochrome monitors as those monitors had less radiation as compared to colour monitors. In term of operating cost, monochrome monitors consume less electricity than colour monitors.

In the late 90s, Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) technology that was initially used in notebook computer was used in desktop monitor. This LCD monitor emits relatively no radiation and therefore is very health friendly. Its consumes even less electricity than any CRT monitor. Despites all the good features of the LCD monitor, its price was relatively high until recent years it goes cheaper and cheaper until now. Nowaday, an LCD Monitor merely costs arround $100 dollar each depending on its screen size, people at any workplace can replace their monochrome or colour CRT monitors with the same low cost if not lower cost to enjoy all the good features that CRT monitors do not have particulary the near zero radiation feature provides save environment for workers and clients . It is believed that it is hard to find monochrome monitor supply nowadays and the prize could be very high if there is. Hence, there really is no place for monochrome monitor nowadays.
